The world of Eros is a world reborn.
In ancient times, it was a bustling world filled with sprawling cities, far reaching trade routes, and a multitude of people of varying races living and working together. They enjoyed a thousand years of peace and prosperity. But then the world SHATTERED and all was lost. The tales speak about a day when the sky ripped open and fire rained down for a year. The largest of two moons, Hyllus was shattered and smaller one, Antaeus disappeared completely. The lands of Eros quaked and chasms tore through the landscape. Entire towns and cities were swallowed taking with them all their people. Huge waves ravaged the coastlines and storms whipped the oceans into froth. The world’s population was decimated, and the remaining cities were left in ruins. Exactly one year later, the fire suddenly stopped, and the ground slowly began closing again. Antaeus reappeared in the sky. Over the next few years, the land healed itself and before long, the world was calm again, though its survivors were very much on edge. People heal and eventually even forget, but the damage had been done. The once peaceful blanket that warmed the world had gone cold and trust was a rare commodity. And if anyone were to forget what the world had gone through, they only had to look into the sky at Hyllus, the shattered moon, and they would be forced to remember. The cause of mysterious shattering was never known. Were the gods angry and brought their wrath down upon the world? Had a powerful warlock released an ancient evil? Had a wizard’s lust for mystical power gotten out of hand? Many had theories, none knew for sure, and the question was never answered. The world settled into a nervous unease. They picked up the pieces, regrouped with their remaining families, and cautiously began rebuilding.
Now, fifty years later, the world is rebuilt. The cities aren’t as big, the trade routes are less active and more dangerous, and the people are more wary of strangers. Tensions are high. Still, in a shattered world, the opportunities for adventure and wealth are at an all time high. Artifacts lost in The Shattering are sought after, coffers belonging to the now lost kingdoms are out there, buried, and waiting to be found. Knowledge of magics are waiting to be rediscovered by those willing to venture into the ruins. But it’s very dangerous. While you search for these lost treasures, so do bands of orcs, and pirates, and warlocks. They are willing to kill and maybe even die to unearth and lay claim to these treasures, so be warned. There is wealth out there in the New Wild, but there is danger and death too.
